If a tooth or teeth have
been lost, or extracted, the gap can be filled using implants.
Dental implants are titanium posts that closely resemble
the shape of the original root. Once sited in the jawbone,
the implant remains unused for several weeks to allow the
bone to grow around the implant. Once the implant has successfully
integrated, an impression is taken and the crowns, bridge,
or denture is made and then attached to the implant. Implants
are generally a comfortable and effective replacement for
missing teeth. They look and feel quite natural, and can
be expected to last for 20+ years.
